Poverty TourismJosh Ruxin directs the Millennium Village project in Rwanda.
Description
From the slums of Mumbai to rural Masai villages, people are paying to visit some of the world's most out-of-the-way places. Some say these tours help richer visitors understand how much of the world lives, while critics contend that the tours can be little more than voyeurism.
Josh Ruxin is the founder and director of the Millennium Villages project in Rwanda. He speaks with host Peggy Wehmeyer about his firsthand experience.
