Description
Long considered the lowest rung of society in India, the Dalits, or "untouchables," still face discrimination, especially in rural society. But now a small community radio station run by and for Dalit women is working to empower them. Women listen and learn while they cook and work around the home.
Reporter Peter Aronson spent time with some of the listeners and the producers of the station and brings us this story.
