S'aochJared Ferrie/World Vision Report
Luen, one of the last 10 remaining speakers of his native language, sits in the doorway of his home in Samrong Loeu, Cambodia.
Description
According to the United Nations, about half the world's approximately 7,000 languages will disappear by the end of this century. One language on the verge of extinction is spoken by the S'aoch people, a tiny, indigenous minority living in Cambodia. But the S'aoch aren't just forgetting their language and culture — they're actively rejecting their heritage.
In Cambodia, reporter Jared Ferrie met one outsider who is trying desperately to document this language before it disappears forever.
