Like most people, I first became aware of the practice of stoning in Sunday School, as the prescribed penalty for adultery in biblical times. Jesus is teaching on the Mount of Olives when the local scribes and Pharisees bring a woman caught in adultery and ask what should be done with her. more...

I went into this thinking it would be one of my more dangerous assignments. With 10,000 madrassahs in Pakistan, and roughly 15% of them espousing anti-Western rhetoric, I was pretty sure the odds were on my side.

Reporters
Ruth has been reporting from China since 2005. She has filed for Marketplace, Deutsche Welle, German Radio and other outlets and also writes for newspapers and magazines.
Ruth is an accomplished radio journalist. Prior to moving to China she worked for the BBC World Service in London for more than a decade, producing and editing programs such as NewsHour, The World Today and Europe Today.
"China never fails to surprise and astonish me," Ruth says. The Middle Kingdom is a difficult place to report from. Journalists face all kinds of restrictions and obstacles. "But people's courage and determination to make this a better place and fight for their rights makes working in China a tremendously rewarding experience."
Marcos' passions are social communications, radio, culture, people, and traveling. His favorite radio programs are technology and traveling. He says, "I love walking the world."
Marcos was part of the founding interdisciplinary team that created a psychiatric radio program in Argentina, and he has created a documentary on the subject. He works as a reporter for a few radio stations.
Jared Ferrie is a freelance journalist and correspondent for The National Newspaper. He was born in Vancouver where he worked as a daily reporter for print and radio, but after reading one too many books written by foreign correspondents he decided to move overseas. Jared has reported from countries in West Africa and Southeast Asia, as well as Afghanistan and rebel-held territory in Sri Lanka. He currently lives in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Shannon Mullen is a freelance reporter and film producer based in New England. She is a native of New Hampshire, where she studied Pre-Veterinary Medicine in college and dabbled in professional culinary pursuits before finding her niche in journalism. She has two dogs, lives on a farm, loves traveling and being outdoors. 
Emily Wong's radio stories about Kenya have aired on the World Vision Report, the BBC World Service and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's radio program Dispatches.
At the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-HABITAT), she worked as a consultant on gender equality programs, based in Nairobi, Kenya. In the United Kingdom, she has worked as a domestic violence victims' advocate. She lives in London.
